How the collaboration works
Non-binding introductory consultation
We start with a non-binding meeting where we get to know each other and discuss your idea. We don’t sell, we don’t send blind proposals. We want to understand what you want to build and why — and whether we can help.
The consultation can take place:
In person at our Prague office

Its goal is to modernize the way people buy second-hand bikes and bring trust and safety into the process. In 2023, the startup secured a significant investment worth millions of euros. They originally started in Austria and Germany and are gradually expanding into other European markets (including Italy and France). Today, the startup has both mobile and web applications and is used daily by tens of thousands of people.

Startup of the Year
We never treated this project as just another job. We were involved in every important decision — from the very first concept to expansion into international markets. Thanks to this, it now stands on a technical foundation that can handle rapid growth.
Why choose Pixelmate as a strategic partner?
We are not just developers
We don’t blindly follow specifications. We think about the project in context — technically, product-wise, and from a business perspective. We speak openly and help make decisions that make sense in the long term.
We build projects that won’t fall apart during expansion
We don’t build applications on no-code solutions or templates that only work until the first major user load. We design high-quality, extensible, and modular solutions so that a successful project isn’t slowed down during scaling or expansion by its own technology — which is unfortunately a common scenario.
Startup know-how since 2014
We have built dozens of web and mobile applications and have been part of many startup stories from the very beginning. We know what works, where mistakes are made, and when it’s better to choose a simpler path.
Everything under one roof
We combine design and UX, web and mobile application development, product thinking, and marketing. You don’t need to assemble a team from multiple vendors. With us, everything works together as a whole.
Technical partner for non-technical founders
We help vision-driven people who are not technical experts. We translate ideas into a functional product and take on technical responsibility so founders can focus on the business.
Deep roots in the startup ecosystem
We are surrounded by people from the startup scene, product specialists, and investors. Thanks to this, we can see the project in a broader context and prepare it for the next stages of growth.

More about usWe have built more than one company ourselves, and through some of them we learned what is truly critical when developing a project. Read an older article on CzechCrunch that explains why, alongside good IT, it’s equally important to think about a business plan.

We have been active in the startup world since 2014. During that time, we have been involved in the creation of dozens of projects and have seen both successes and dead ends. Thanks to this, we know today that it’s not enough to “just develop well.” A startup needs a partner who helps make the right decisions at the right time — technically, product-wise, and from a business perspective. That’s why we operate as a partner, not a supplier, and we don’t believe in blindly following specifications. We want to be part of the team, help founders build products with long-term growth potential, and support their growth, scaling, and success over the long term. Startups are not just about code — they’re about people, decisions, and timing.
Why is MVP crucial when building an application?
MVP (Minimum Viable Product) is not a “half-finished” or cheap version of a product.
It is a fast launch of an application with only the essential features. The goal is to launch the project as quickly as possible and with the lowest possible costs. A properly built MVP must be easy to extend, evolve, and scale.
A proper MVP must
Be efficient
Maximum value for minimal cost
Save time
Today’s turbulent environment demands speed when entering the market
Allow growth
An MVP must be high-quality, scalable, and ready for new features
Hit the target
Focus on your business, not on the technical aspects of the application
When should you think about an MVP?
It’s impossible to predict exactly how the service will be used
Your business creates an entirely new market or significantly innovates an existing one
You need to validate the idea without a large investment (proof of concept)
You have limited financial resources or limited time to launch
What should you watch out for from a technology perspective when building a startup?
From a technology standpoint, there is essentially one key thing to keep in mind — technology must serve the project, not the other way around. The project must be able to grow, expand, change teams, and scale internationally. If you take care of this right from the start, it will save you countless problems and costs in the future.
Choose technologies that are vendor-independent — this helps you avoid so-called vendor lock-in.
An MVP must be designed to be extensible. It should be robust and modular. Technologies should be well-established — not obsolete, but also not overly new with little developer support.
Avoid rented solutions, equity-for-development deals, or unclear ownership structures.
The application must be built on robust technologies that can handle user growth for many years. Many startups have failed due to outdated technology and an inability to handle high load.
The code must be understandable not only for the current team but also for future developers. Your project must not rely on the know-how of a single developer.
A wrong technological decision at the start often becomes apparent only when the project begins to grow. That’s why it’s crucial to have a partner who has been through these situations and knows what to avoid.
